death penalty

I've done research on the death penalty and everything i have found out about it has prooven to me that we do not need it. First of all it is not fair that someone convicted of a crime who does not have enough money for a good lawyer might be sentenced to death, as opposed to others who are convicted that have enough money to hire a good enough lawyer to defend them. Therefore it is not worth the risk to put someone to death who might be innocent just beucase they couldn't hire a good enough lawyer to defend them. Also the statistics show that the death penalty has not been effective in every state in reducing crime or murder, and in some cases crime and murder increased. The death penalty takes away the immortality of killing, and shows that vengence for misdeeds are acceptable. There are alternatives to the death penalty, and despite what people think they are not always as expensive or costly.
