Nicole, I totally agree with your post. The sheer cost alone is enough to motivate me to be against the death penalty and that is without even considering my absolute moral objections. I have worked since I was 17 to end the death penalty in the United States. I have done a lot and watching George Ryan issue the moratorium in Illinois was a great moment for me.
I also want to comment on Nate's post. It is VERY interesting that there is a pretty striking gender divide on this topic. I know we are going to talk a lot about the relationship between masculinity and violence during fourth quarter, but this plays right into it. Fascinating!
