another topic change- smoking laws

so, i think we've already talked about the election... a couple times, so i guess ill change the topic to the new smoking laws. January 16th the city announced that smoking in indoor public places and within 15 feet of a public enterance is banned. doing so can result in a 100$ fine. what does everyone think of this? i think it is good that smoking is banned in restaurants, malls, ect because people take their children there and prolly dont want their kids exposed to the second hand smoke, and the people that work there dont have to be exposed to it day and night too. but i think that 15 foot rule is a little strange and maybe excessive. i dont understand how the city can restrict where you smoke when youre outside. i duno whats everyone else think?
