Julie's Post

Oh My Gosh Therese! thats soooooo cool! I wish I had the oportunity to go somewhere like that! As for doing anything and everything us teenagers can, it's tough. To start, as a simple thing, students can donate or participate in YHOP activities. They are always looking for help and donations. By donating, you aren't directly helping with world hunger, but with the communities needs. Which, in my opinion, is almost equally important. Since all of us are volunteering, too, we are all helping within the community.

To add to the North Korea issue, I feel that it is an issue similar to Iraq. If the USA gets involved it could be one of those dreadful, ongoing, never ending, craziness. I think before the world steps in, the NKs have to be in it too. We all saw how in the video they are brainwashed to think that they should live like that and that its a good way to live. I know that not all of them think this in reality, just out of fear, but more may have been trained than we can imagine. We have to understand that not all think like us, and that even though they are living in the most terrific conditions ever, its not something that we can just jump in and fix in an instant. An issue like that would take multipe years to fix. Even after we fix it, what are you suposed to do with the country? I'm sure that United Nations has tried to deal with this issue too, but again, there are bigger, more urgent issues.
